Norma Christina Hall, 81, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023, with loved ones by her bedside. She was born in Guyana, South America on December 25, 1941, to the late Robert E. Hall Snr. and Walterine Fraser-Hall.
She started her career as a pupil teacher at Queenstown R.C. School in Georgetown, Guyana. After a couple of years, she decided to join the medical field as a nurse. She spent numerous years in different departments in Georgetown and Suddie Hospitals, advancing in positions of nurse midwife, operation room nurse, and charge nurse.
Norma migrated to the United States of America in 1970 and lived her entire life in Albany, NY. In a very short time, she passed the licensure exam and became a Registered Nurse (RN). She worked at Albany Medical Center Hospital, St. Peter's Hospital, VA Albany Health, and the last 35 years with Central Nursing Services in Troy, NY.
She was the head usher from the early beginnings of the Black Catholic Apostolate on Thornton Street in Albany, NY. For several years, she worked diligently to help create a warm, welcoming environment for members and visitors.
