Norma Lou Handsaker

Norma Lou Moore Handsaker passed away peacefully in her Bandon home early morning September 26, 2024 at 88 years young. Norma Lou Moore Handsaker was born October 8,1935 in Loveland, Colorado to parents Raymond Moore and Ruth Barr Moore.
Norma married Earl E. Handsaker on June 25,1955. The two moved to Bandon, Oregon in 1958 where they raised three children; Sandra L. Handsaker, Lance O. Handsaker, and Mark E. Handsaker. In her early years Norma was a homemaker, a talented baker, quilter, and canner and was well known in the community for her gifts to others. Norma was a Girl Scouts co-leader and was crowned Queen of the Kitchen at the Cranberry Festival. Norma won many ribbons at the Coos County fairs over the years for her talents. Norma worked part-time in the Bandon school kitchen and remained an active service worker who went on to fundraise for the Bandon Pacific Christian School. Norma Lou is survived by her children, Sandra and Lance, and her brother, Warren Moore. Norma Lou will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Norma Lou was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her son Mark, and her grandson David E.E. Handsaker. Norma served as a dedicated and highly involved member of Pacific Community Church. Norma's family and friends will join together for a Celebration of Life on October 26, 2024 at 1p.m. at the Pacific Community Church. Guests are invited to join afterwards at the Fellowship Hall to enjoy deserts and share memories. The family requests donations be made to the church in lieu of flowers or gifts.
