Norma Kenworthy

Norma Kenworthy, 91, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, due to heart ailments. Born on September 4, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Earnest Berry and Vera (Durr) Berry, Norma was a lifelong resident who brought warmth and love to her family and community.

A graduate of Lincoln High School, Norma united in marriage with Thomas Chester Kenworthy, her high school sweetheart and fellow Lincoln High School graduate from the same year, on August 30, 1952. Together, they shared 61 years of love and devotion until his passing. Norma was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her nurturing spirit, quick wit, infectious laugh, and love of family gatherings.

Norma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Suk Kenworthy; grandchildren, Michael Kenworthy, Alex Kenworthy, Jared Kenworthy, and Carly Kenworthy; and nine great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Chester Kenworthy, and her sons, Thomas Eugene Kenworthy and Steven Allen Kenworthy.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A luncheon will be held afterward for family and friends to celebrate Norma's life.

Norma's love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
