Norma Jean "Jeannie" O'Day, 84, of Daphne, AL, formerly of Hannibal, MO, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL.
She was born September 28, 1940, in Luray, MO, the daughter of Joseph H. and Della Brooks O'Day. Norma graduated from Revere High School with the Class of 1958.
She was employed with the City of Hannibal for many years before her retirement. Those who knew Norma will remember her as strong, fair, wise, and just-qualities that guided her life and left a lasting impression on all who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Brown of Daphne, AL; two grandsons, Austin Brown (Summer) of Houston, TX, and Noah Brown of Charleston, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Conrad, and Cooper. She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Edward O'Day (Caroline) of Ft. Madison, IA, and Alan Dean O'Day (Michele) of Alexandria, MO; as well as five nieces, Brenda Sisson (Mark) and Bonnie Morgan (David) all of Kahoka, Jennifer O'Day-Dostalek (Joseph) of Ft. Madison, Maria Michl of Ft. Madison, and Deana O'Day of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew Kevin O'Day, and her son-in-law Chuck Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Kahoka Cemetery.
A celebration of Norma's life will follow from 2–4 p.m. at Pioneer Seed Building in Wayland.
