Norma Rinaldi passed away on June 21, 2025, at the age of 82. A longtime resident of West Nyack, NY, she was born on February 20, 1943, in the Bronx to Samuel and Elsie Ginsberg.
Norma worked for many years as the office manager at Ridgeway Elementary School in White Plains. Known for her no-nonsense organization and dry sense of humor, she helped keep the school running smoothly and earned the respect of staff, students, and parents alike.
She was married to the late Sam Rinaldi for 49 years. Together, they built a life marked by determination, mutual respect, and a steady rhythm of shared routines.
After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Joanna and Andrew, and her Saturday visits with her daughter, Melissa.
She had a sharp wit and a well-documented love of chocolate and sweets. She was fond of saying after a vacation, "We had ice cream for lunch, I think I lost some weight." It was classic Norma-cheeky, understated, and somehow completely sincere. She also shared a close relationship with her sister, Helen Ginsberg, who predeceased her. The time they spent together was a constant in her life, full of sibling banter, shared history, and mutual support.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Norma was especially close to her niece and nephews-Natalie, Michael, and Michael J. She loved spending hours on the phone with Michael, talking about the issues of the day and everything in between.
Norma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Richard Meyers; her granddaughter Joanna Meyers; her grandson Andrew Meyers; and her niece and nephews Natalie, Michael, and Michael J. Farina.
In addition to Sam and Helen, she was predeceased by her brother, Arnold Ginsberg.
Norma was a unique person who will be remembered with affection by those who knew her.
