Norma Jean Sanderlin, 91, of Cottonwood, Arizona passed away peacefully with her son and daughter-in-law at her side at home on January 15, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Norma was born in Romulus, Michigan. She married William Sanderlin on March 5, 1955, and resided in Schoolcraft, Michigan for approximately 12 years. They eventually sold their house in Michigan, moved into a motorhome and traveled across the U. S. A. with their four children and a dog, visiting friends and relatives along the way for about a year, ending up in Tucson, Arizona. Norma worked as an executive secretary for Flowing Wells School District while in Tucson for 20 plus years. When her husband William passed, she moved to Cottonwood, Arizona and lived with her son and daughter-in-law from 2005 to 2026. She loved Cottonwood, the Sedona red rocks, Jerome, Camp Verde, and everything about the Verde Valley.
Norma was the best mother anyone could ever ask for. She loved her family and her friends. The friends at church were very special to her. Norma could be described as: sweet, classy, artistic, wise, God-loving, selfless, and very organized.
Norma is proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Wilmina Hoppe, her husband, William Warren Sanderlin, and sister Carole Rafalski. She is survived by her brother Don Hoppe, her 4 children, Bill Sanderlin, Lori Hayes, Scott Sanderlin, Gary Sanderlin, her many grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Norma was placed beside her husband, William Sanderlin on February 3, 2026 at East Lawn Palms Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona. The celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, March 28, 2026 at Scott and Nora's house. 1395 East Regge Way, Cottonwood, AZ, 86326. RSVP if planning to attend.
