Norma Schatz Obituary
Norma Jean Schatz, 78, of Hazleton, IN passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was born July 24, 1947 in Hazleton, IN to the late Ranvil and Elsie Young. Norma enjoyed playing games on her tablet, making cookies, and playing sudoku. She worked at the Dollar General Store and was a secretary for many years at the Lion's Club. Norma will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James H. Schatz; children, Christopher "Chris" Schatz and Brad Schatz; step-children, David (Elizabeth) Schatz, Jackie Schatz, and Reba Singer; siblings, James Schatz, Loretta Schatz, Serena (Jack) Dillon, and Lillie (Joseph) Schatz; and brother-in-law, John Guard.
Norma is survived by her significant other of 30 years, Roger Osborn; daughter-in-law, Sarah Schatz; son-in-law, Morris Singer, and step-children, Vicki Stover, and James Schatz; sister, Lois Guard; grandchildren, Daniel (Becky) Schatz, Jody Schatz, Ashley Schatz, Henry Schatz, Shayna (Max) Pugh, Christopher James Schatz Jr., Jake Schatz, Tommy Schatz, David James Schatz, Donald Schatz, Inez Cooper, Andrea (Mike) Singer-Mohan, Remington Schatz, Sterling Hurst, Elizabeth Schatz, Raeleigh Lowe, Alaina Lowe, Braden Lowe, Tyler Mahan, and Hayvan Ramey; great-grandchildren, Paige Schatz, Delaney Schatz, Hunter Schatz, Trenton Schatz, Harley Schatz, Mac Schatz, Taylor Schatz, Jordan Schatz, Dakota Cooper, Autumn Cooper, Gabe Singer-Mohan, Grace Singer-Mohan, David Singer-Mohan, and Patrick Singer-Mohan; and step-grandchildren, Jimmy (Erica) Lowe, Timothy Ramey, and Brian Ramey.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Spencer Gaines officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Hazleton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
