Buch Funeral Home - ManheimJohn W. Schatz, 87, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Pleasant View Communities, Manheim. Born in Mount Joy Township, he was the son of the late Harold Sr. and Kathryn Wagner Schatz. He was the loving husband of the late Joyce E. Hoffer Schatz who died in 2016. John retired after 22 years from the former Alcoa, Lancaster. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking, reading and traveling to the mountains. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
Surviving is a son, Brian husband of Pamela Schatz, a daughter, Cathy wife of J. Kevin Baker both of Manheim, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Flowers of Perry County. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Harold, Jr., Robert, and Richard Schatz.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s Funeral Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in John’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 4219 East Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
