Obituary of Ronald L. Denlinger
Ronald L. Denlinger, 82, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Brickerville, died Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Pleasant View Retirement Communities, Manheim. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Phares Denlinger and the late Mildred Rapp Denlinger Kerner. He was the husband of Carol A. Kreider Denlinger for 59 years on September 17.
Following his graduation from McCaskey High School in 1961, Ron enlisted in the US Navy for four years active duty and served an additional four years in the Navy Reserve. Prior to retiring in 2000, he was employed by Armstrong for 37 years. While at Armstrong, he played softball and was on a company bowling league. His sports activities also included fishing and playing golf and his greatest accomplishment was hitting a hole-in-one at Evergreen Golf Course. He took up running at age 40 and ran three marathons. Ron enjoyed being a bingo caller at Brickerville Fire Co., and Brookshire Community.
Ron was a member of Brickerville United Lutheran Church and served as a volunteer fireman with the Brickerville Fire Company. Ron supported his children and grandchildren by attending their sports activities when he was available. In addition to puzzles, he enjoyed games and playing cards, especially pinochle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Veronica L., wife of Nathan Myer, of Lititz, and Jason A., husband of Heather Brown Denlinger, of Manheim; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three siblings, Joanne Eby of Manheim, Kris, wife of Steve Cochran, of Galeton, and Drew, husband of Jennifer Kerner, of Idaho; two brothers-in-law, Rick Boyd of Lancaster and Emerson Newswanger of New Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Robert Denlinger, Brenda Boyd, and Sandra Newswanger.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View Memory Care Center for the compassionate care Ron received there.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3:30 PM at Brickerville United Lutheran Church, 340 East 28 Division Highway, Lititz, PA 7543.
