Norma Jean Simpson, 83, passed away June 14, 2025, at Legend of Hutchinson. The youngest of six, she was born March 20, 1942, in rural Pretty Prairie, KS to Harry and Eva (Walborn) Warfield.
Norma graduated from Pretty Prairie High School and Salt City Business College. After working at various places, including Cessna/Eaton in Hutchinson, KS, she became a CNA and then a CMA. Norma started at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson and ended at Presbyterian Manor in Wichita.
Norma is survived by: her husband of 64 years, Terry G. Simpson; daughters, Robin (Mike) Murphy, Fort Worth, TX and Kathie (James) Craig, Wichita, KS; daughter-in-law, Cindy Simpson, Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Makenzie (Nick) Messer, Zachary Simpson, Megan Murphy (Salem Luethy), Madeline Murphy, Zander Craig, and Zane Craig; great-grandchildren, Memphis Messer, Addie Messer, and Parker Rasmussen; brother and sister-in-law, Noel (Norma) Simpson; and brother-in-law, Dean Rydholm. She was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters; three brothers; in-laws; and her son, Ryan G. Simpson.
Funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 407 E. 12th, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. at Sego Cemetery, rural Reno County. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
