Norma Jean (Lewis) Taylor, age 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed peacefully on the evening of Monday, September 15, 2025, into the arms of the Lord. She joins her parents, Earl J. and Wilma Marie Lewis, and her sister, Doris (Lewis) Eick, and her husband Robert Eick, in Heaven.

Norma was born on July 1, 1933, on the family farm in Malvern, Ohio. She graduated from Malvern High School in 1951. On June 15, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Larry L. Taylor, at the First Methodist Church in Malvern. Together, they shared 73 years of marriage, a true testament to enduring love and commitment. In 2022, more than 100 family and friends gathered to celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary, a joyful reflection of the many lives they touched.

After marriage, Norma worked for her brother-in-law's accounting firm and later as a secretary in a school system outside of Washington, D.C. Following their return to North Canton, she served as secretary to principal Ted Isue at North Canton Hoover High School, where she retired in 1989. She was honored with the Education Endowment Fund Award for outstanding individual effort to better education within the district and was lauded as an "invaluable asset" to Hoover High School for her professional skills and warm personality. Yet, her proudest role was that of wife, mother, and the guiding heart of her family. Family and tradition were central to Norma's life, and she was the driving force behind a close-knit family whose bonds remain strong because of her love and devotion.

She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Larry L. Taylor; her children Larry (Kelly), Rick, and Mark (Becky) Taylor; and her grandchildren Aaron (Stef), Courtney, Cody, Jennifer (Kyle), Jessica (Greg), Ben (Asti), Christine (Callum), and Jonnie. Norma was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom - along with many others - lovingly referred to her as "Mamaw."

Norma will be remembered for her love, strength, and grace. Her devotion to family created a legacy that will live on in the generations who follow.

Calling hours will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Reed Funeral Home in North Canton (801 Pittsburg Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720), followed by a funeral service from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Cemetery in Malvern, with a luncheon to follow at Malvern United Methodist Church. Online condolences and fond memories may be left for the family at www.reedfuneralhome.com.

I am so very shocked and so very, very sorry to hear that my dear friend Norma has gone Home to our Lord. We talked just a short time ago and she told me about her stroke, but she sounded so upbeat. I was going to send a message very soon about the situation here - and ask for her prayers - I knew she would call on our God with her prayers. I am so sorry for your loss (although she is not lost - we know exactly where she is and I pray that will be a great comfort to you, Larry, and to all her beloved children. We grew up together in Malvern, me on the middle hill and she on the first hill. She, Shirley Smith, Alpha May, and I spent many happy and fun times and I treasure those times and I know she did, also. Please accept my sympathy and prayers - may your hearts be comforted with God's unfailing love.
