Charlene R. Cope, age 85 of North Canton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1940, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence Edgar Lambes and Mildred Killian Lambes.

She was a graduate of Coventry High School, class of 1958. Charlene spent many years working in various compacities first for the United Rubber Workers in Akron, Ohio, then transferring to Pittsburg to finish her career and then retiring from United Steelworkers International.

Charlene enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing card games and was a member of a Ladies Card Club where she had many friends. She was a member of the Evermore Community Church and cherished her relationship with her church family. Charlene also loved studying her bible and doing her daily devotionals. Her favorite verse was Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Lambes; nephews, David and Mark Garber; granddaughter, Kathryn Cope. Survived by her loving family; sister, Shirley Garber; brother, Gary (Rhonda) Lambes; children, Craig (Janna) Cope, Ronald Kevin (Glynis) Cope, and Melissa (Jim) Walsh; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and close friends, Lorene Smith, Lisa Balou, and Bonnie Lott.

Services will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, with visitation at 12pm, followed by a memorial service starting at 1pm, Evermore Community Church, 1470 Smith Kramer St. NE. Hartville, Ohio 44632. Pastor Ross Miller and Pastor Butch Nisly officiating.
