Norman L. Baldwin, 88, of Fostoria, Ohio, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1937, in Defiance, Ohio, to the late Oscar and Martha (Smith) Baldwin.
On June 4, 1960, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Meyer and she preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2018, after a loving 58 years of marriage.
Norm was a 1960 graduate of Defiance College and achieved his Business Administration degree. He also played football for Defiance as well.
He was a faithful member of Ziegler Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Ohio. He was involved in community service over the years including Past President of Huntington's Disease Society of America Central Ohio Chapter, Past President of the Fostoria YMCA, Fostoria Kiwanis Club, Fostoria Habitat for Humanity, Past Campaign Chairman of Fostoria Area United Way, and Seneca County Foster Parents Award in 1981.
Norm was also the Senior Vice President at State Home Savings Bank in Fostoria/Bowling Green, Ohio and worked at Heartland Bank in Colombus, Ohio.
He was a giving man through his love and service. He taught us about selfless love in the way he cherished and adored his wife, Bonnie. They were an inseparable team; she was always in his heart.
Norm worked honestly and hard, providing for his family and serving in his community. He was an avid handball player, Cleveland sports fan, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was grateful for his children and family, and proud of his ancestors who served his country.
He is survived by his children, Laurie (Gary) Pecuch of Grove City, Ohio, Craig (Lori) Baldwin of Thornville, Ohio, Daniel (Crystal) Baldwin of Findlay, Ohio; grandson, Andrew (Jess) Baldwin of Evansville, Indiana; sister, Marilyn (Barry) Buzogany of Carolina Beach, North Carolina; and dear friend Margart Simmons of Lancaster, Ohio.
Norm is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Martha Baldwin.
Norm and Bonnie also fostered 48 children over 33 years who are loved like family.
Friends and family will be received at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 3-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held for Norm on Thursday, April 2 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be directed towards HDSA Central Ohio Chapter, P.O. Box 2213, Columbus, Ohio 43126; or Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona.
