Norman Alexander Barnes, a cherished resident of Tucker, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the age of 58. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 28th, 1967, Norman's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love for family.

He was a devoted father to his daughter, Alexas Bourgeois, and son, Aaron Barnes, who will continue to carry on his legacy. Norman is also survived by his loving mother, Yvonne Barnes. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Alexander.

Norman dedicated 25 years of his life to his work as a lab technician, employed by Quest Diagnostics in Tucker, GA. His colleagues remember him as a consummate professional with a keen eye for detail, always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge.

In addition to his professional life, Norman served his country honorably in the Army, embodying the values of duty, honor, and sacrifice. His military service instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

A celebration of Norman's life will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home in the South DeKalb Chapel, located at 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA, 30034. Family and friends are invited to gather for a public viewing on the same day from 1:00 pm until the hour of service to pay their respects and share memories.
