Norman Boucher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home - Newington on Nov. 4, 2024.
Norman Joseph Boucher, 66, died on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024. Born in Hartford, Norman was the youngest of 9 siblings, the son of Gerard Boucher and Jeannette (Goulet) Boucher. He was a beautiful gentle soul, and a profoundly spiritual man, who had the capacity to touch the hearts of most everyone he encountered. Norman lived an incredible life. Having been born with learning disabilities, he faced lifelong challenges and difficulties, but he never ceased to amaze. Norman graduated high school, learned to drive, and held a job most of his adult life. Norman had several lifelong loves, bowling, the Red Sox, music, and movies. He was an avid bowler, belonging to many leagues, watched every Red Sox game and could spout stats better than most sportscasters, and over the years accumulated and enjoyed a huge collection of CDs and DVDs.
Norman leaves behind 4 siblings, Gloria Wu and husband Peter of Manchester, Muriel Towhill of Vernon, Jeannine Manson and husband David of Suffield, and Colette Waddill and husband Jay of Wilmington NC; a sister-in-law Carolann Boucher; and many nieces and nephews. Norman also leaves behind his very close lifetime best friend, Jay Walsh. Besides his Mom and Dad, he was predeceased by 4 siblings, Georgette Paquette, Eugene Boucher and wife Elizabeth Boucher, Henry Boucher, and Raymond Boucher. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Saint Mary's Home, who provided Norman with unwavering dignity, respect, kindness, and care during the last 9 years of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Norman's family on Wednesday, November 6th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. His funeral will start on Thursday, November 7th, from the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. He will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, immediately following. To share a condolence with his family, please visit www.duksa.net.

I was Norman's vocational counselor for several community work sites that he was employed at. He was always a pleasure to work with. I just found out today of Norman's passing.

My deepest condolences to Norman's family.
