Norman Dolby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Major Family Funeral Home - Springfield on Sep. 30, 2021.
Norm passed away on September 26, 2021 at the age 84. He was born in Baker City, Oregon on October 3, 1936. Norm graduated from Springfield High School in 1955. He served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1955-58. He attended Eugene Bible College and Northwest Christian College where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1974. In 1996, he retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation and then worked as a building contractor. He was also an ordained minister in Open Bible Standard Churches.
In February 1959, he married Elsie Patrick. They made their home in Springfield, Oregon where they raised their three children and Elsie's younger brother. He enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, spending time at the beach, restoring classic Camaro cars, and he delighted in the time he had with his grandchildren. He was an avid 'garage saler', and his family & friends called him the world's best handyman. He was a true friend to many and was always willing to share the love of Jesus with anyone who would listen.
Norman is survived by Elsie Dolby, his wife of sixty-two years; his children David (Vanessa) Dolby; Rhonda (Mike) Crocker; Marlo (Robert) Nixon; Bruce (Deanna) Patrick; his sister, Nona Cobb; numerous nieces and nephews; and ten amazing grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 4, 2021, at Waypoint Community Church, 332 58th Street, Springfield, Oregon.

My husband, Rance Kinser, worked with Norm at Georgia Pacific. Norm helped win Rance to the Lord decades ago. He was a good guy and kind. He was always cheerful.
