Norman Gould Obituary

Norman Gould, 85, of Enfield formerly of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on October 22, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Rachel Gould. He was born on February 6, 1938 in Lewiston, ME. Norman was raised by his grandmother Elizabeth Gould and great aunt Helen Gould. Norm resided in Enfield for 28 years before moving to Punta Gorda, FL and moved back to CT 2 1/2 years ago. During high school he played basketball, baseball and soccer at Lancaster H.S., Prior to retiring in 1984 Norm was employed with Pratt & Whitney and retired from Sealtest, while in Florida he had volunteered for many establishments. Norm suffered from polio at the age of 8 and was in an iron lung. He had many aliments over the years, but it never stopped him. He loved to be the life of the party and he loved to dress up for all of the holidays. He loved to play bocce. Norm was a member of the Elks for 55 years and Loyal Order of the Moose for 35 years.
Norm is survived by two children; Debbie Gould Ashworth and her husband Barry, and Robbie Gould and his wife Karen all of Enfield, his five grandchildren; Sasha (Racheal) Miller, Chelsi Kohler, Alex Gould, Hannah Gould and Emma Gould, his four beloved great grandchildren; Areyah & Daijah Spicer, Teegan & Tristen Miller, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends, especially Harry & Greg, who he looked to like brothers. Besides his wife, grandmother and aunt, he was also predeceased by a great granddaughter Delaney Miller.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield followed by a Prayer and Elk Services. Services in Florida will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 11:00am at the Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd. Punta Gorda, FL 33950, [email protected]. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of New England, 35 Cold Spring Rd. Ste. 411 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
