Norman Leroy Holden, 89, of Morning View, KY, passed away peacefully May 13, 2025. His passing follows the recent loss of his beloved wife, Paula Faye Holden, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage, earlier this year. The heartache from her passing played a role in his own health, as he often spoke of looking forward to being reunited with her soon.
Born on January 7, 1936, to Royal Jackson Holden and Bessie C. (Williams) Holden, Norman was one of eight children, including Paul Vincent Holden, Wayne Holden, Genevieve (Jeni) Blakely, Leona (Lee) Dyer, JoAnn Wyble, and Tom Clyde Holden, who passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati at Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, first wife, Ethel (Buffington) Holden.
Norman proudly served in the U.S. Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division, for which he was immensely proud. After his military service, he worked and retired as a member of Iron Workers Local 44 in Cincinnati. In 2024, he earned recognition for 65 years as a member of Local 44.
Norman's deep faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of Morning View Methodist Church, where he served as an adult Sunday School teacher for over 30 years and was a member of the choir. His love for Jesus was evident in everything he did, and he was a pillar of his church community.
Norm was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh. He had many hobbies and passions. He loved to watch movies, listen to music, and sing. In the warmer months, he would garden, bass fish, and golf. Above all, Norman cherished his family and was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his children: Donna Boone (Nick), Ricky Glenn Holden, Carrie Marie Schultz (Zak), and Christian Michael Holden (Brittany). He was preceded in death by his children: Norman Lee Holden, Tammy Rouse (Victor), David Holden, Matthew Holden, and Shelly Brock. Norman is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Morning View Methodist Church, located at 4006 Rich Road, Morning View, KY 41063, from 11:am to 12:30pm, followed by a funeral service at the church. Norman will be laid to rest at Richwood Cemetery, located at Richwood, KY, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home. Following the graveside, everyone is welcome to join the family at the Grandview Tavern, 2220 Grandview Dr., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
Norm will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his faith, his sense of humor, and his commitment to helping his friends and family. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew him.
