Roger was a graduate of both Pendleton High School and Morehead State University. He owned and operated Wafford Trucking for 10 years, then accepted a position at Medusa Aggregates, now Hilltop Stone in Butler, KY retiring 40 years later as Sales/Operations Manager in 2019. Roger thoroughly enjoyed golfing at various courses and especially Pendleton Country Club, where he was a board member as well as club president for 4 years.
He is preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Wafford and after 59 years of marriage his wife Martha preceded him in death on February 13, 2025.
Roger is survived by his daughter Sheila (Roger) McElfresh, son Jeremy Wafford, grandchildren Steven (Jessica) McElfresh, Kevin (Kaitlyn) McElfresh, Mya and Emery Wafford and sister Pennie (Bill) Pelfrey.
Visitation will be held from 3-5pm, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 5pm, also at the funeral home. Roger's final resting place will be at the Turner Ridge Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the Turner Ridge Building Fund.
