Norman J. Kerr, Jr.
Norm, after living a faith filled life serving others and our Lord, Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 at the age of 81.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Norm grew up in Dearborn where he developed a lifelong enthusiasm for cars, especially Mustangs which he was blessed to have owned a few of throughout his lifetime. Nothing, however, could match the love he had for his wife Dianna. They married in 1967, beginning a life-long journey together.
Spending quality time together with family and friends was a priority, including enjoying countless activities like road rallies, camping, metal detecting, road trips across the US, and card games to name a few. Norm also enjoyed bonding with his sons, grandkids, other family members and friends any chance he was given. He particularly looked forward to annual hunting and fishing trips, where it was more than enough for him to just be there and enjoy everyone's company. While he is missed dearly, we are comforted that he is once again in the arms of Dianna, his loving wife of over 56 years, who passed in 2023.
Norm is survived by his beloved children Eric and Chad (Lori) along with his cherished grandchildren Zachary, Adam, Alena, Trey (Avery), Alexis and Garrett.
A kind-hearted brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews, Norm is predeceased by his parents Julia and Norman Sr and in-laws' (Lawrence and IdaBelle)
As we remember the kindness, love, generosity, selflessness and faith Norm shared with all, may we celebrate his life together at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sterling Heights on Friday, September 20, 2024. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am; Norm will lie instate at 10:30am prior to the mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen are greatly appreciated.
