Norman Paul Kollmeyer was born on June 17, 1945 in Springfield, Missouri to Walter Henry Kollmeyer and Vinita Belle Lowry Kollmeyer. Norman passed away on September 26 at the age of 79.
Norman was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area having attended Central and then Parkview High School graduating from Parkview in 1963. He then attended Missouri State University (then Southwest Missouri State College) and graduated with a degree in business in 1969. He worked for Shelter insurance as a claims adjuster for 38 years retiring in 2007.
Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman and absolutely loved being outdoors. He also loved music, golf and the St Louis Cardinals.
Norman is survived by his wife Jane of 38 years, two children Greg Kollmeyer (Kim) of Springfield, Missouri and Lori Holland (Shane) of Rogers, Arkansas, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brothers Don (Ruth) of Springfield, Missouri John (Kathy) of Rogersville, Missouri, sisters Nancy Schweizer (George) of Carlsbad, California, Anne Kollmeyer of Eden Prarie, Minnesota, and Mary Wagner of Charlotte, North Carolina and 11 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on October 8 at 1pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Norman's memory to the Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks or a favorite charity.
