Norman Simmons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater on Jan. 16, 2026.
Norman Franklin "Frank" Simmons was born on November 3, 1942, in Sparta, Tennessee, and passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on December 30, 2025.
Frank lived a life rooted in love for his family and quiet strength. He was known for his steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to those he cared about. Frank valued hard work, loyalty, and time spent with loved ones, and these values shaped the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind.
He is survived by his brother, David Simmons; his two daughters, Lola Simmons and Donna Simmons Lawing; his five grandchildren, Christopher and Gliselle Williams, Angela Williams, Tabatha and Dave Confessore, Joshua and April Dunne, Kendra and Justin Epler; and his ex wife Linda Shiferdek that took him in her home and helped care for him everyday the past 16 years and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Frank was the proud great-grandfather of eleven great-grandchildren, whom he dearly loved and cherished visits with: Alexandria Karsyn, Curtis Phillips, Troy Phillips, William Geer, Aubree Dunne, Jensen De Los Reyes, Gabriel Williams, Miles Epler, James Dunne, Lukas Epler, and Emma Dunne. Special friends Bill Frasier, Allen and Loretta Jewell.
He will be remembered as a Brother and Daddy, but most of all as Papa. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family.
