Norman R. Steffe, age 65, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, Thursday, January 4, 2024, in his residence, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born on March 29, 1958, in Union Hospital at Dover, Norm was a son of the late Robert E. and Frances Margo Steffe.
Following his graduation from Strasburg High School in 1976, Norm entered into and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, hunting, reading, caring for his dogs, and watching movies. Norm was also a gun enthusiast who previously owned and operated the Mount Healthy Trading Post in Strasburg.
Most recently, Norm had retired from Kent State University at Tuscarawas where he had worked for the past five years as a custodian.
Norm is survived by many cousins; his best friend, Randy Dotts; his dog, Frannie, and many friends.
In keeping with Norm’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Inurnment will take place in the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Strasburg.
