Norman "Steve" Williams, 77, passed following an illness surrounded by his family. Steve was an accomplished gardener, growing anything with ease, which led to a small successful business selling produce at a popular roadside stand. After many years in the transportation industry, Steve applied what he learned, creating his own business becoming an owner/operator aligning perfectly with his independent nature.

He was naturally mechanically inclined, allowing him to tackle skills that many take years to acquire and perfect. The natural talent allowed him to complete the design and build of his own porch and garage. A feat which he accomplished at the age of 73.

Steve never liked being idle and was always viewed as a hard worker with an exceptional work ethic that he instilled in his children. He loved music, especially 60's Doo Wop, and often chose music over all other forms of entertainment.

He was an admired dancer often showcasing this talent while performing a twostep or waltz at a local night spot.

Family was very important to Steve; he was preceded in death by his parents, Norman E. Williams and Maxine (Miller) Williams, and all five siblings, Betty Garrison, Wayne Williams, Janet White, Joyce Squier, and Connie Pallo.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Hazel (Heighway) Williams, or as he affectionately nicknamed her "Charlie". Also left to mourn his passing are his four children, including his daughters, who he referred to as "his girls" Melissa Jessie, Crissy Lefor, and Shelly Hadden and his only son Michael "Todd" Williams.

Steve enjoyed and loved his 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and anyone wishing to contribute to his memorial may do so in the name of the Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
