Norwood Tidwell, Sr., was born on May 11, 1941, in Prescott, Arkansas to the union of John Henry Tidwell and Ellen Tidwell.

Norwood was a 1969 graduate of Scipio Jones (Evening Class). He enlisted in the Unites States Army on February 26, 1965, at Fort Riley in Kansas. He received the Good Conduct Medal and specialized in the rifle as Sharpshooter.

Norwood was a longtime employee of Reynolds Metal Company until his retirement. After retirement he worked for himself doing interior/exterior painting. He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

He passed from this life on August 24, 2025, at the John McClellan Veterans Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Tidwell and Ellen Tidwell, a great-grandson, Jukharee and his sister, Bettie A. Tidwell -Harmon.

He leaves his children Tracy Tidwell , Norwood Tidwell Jr, Christi (Reginald) Temple -King and Shannon (Abrham) Schenk; his grandchildren, Robert Brooks and wife Courtney Brooks, Amoree Volcy and husband Julian Volcy, Nicholas Tidwell, Christopher Bland, Cason Heard, Frank Schenk and Gabrielle Schenk; his great - grandchildren, Senyah, Zoey, Lennox, Amiah, Jalaya, Aubree, Denver, Jukharee (deceased), Christopher Jr. and Kynslee. He also leaves his niece, Gayle Jackson and nephew, Riley E. Jackson, a host of friends and the St. John Missionary Baptist Church Family.
