Nostalgia Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Dale City on Jul. 13, 2024.
On Friday, July 5th, 2024, mid-afternoon, Nostalgia Little Killer Springer-Wright, departed this mortal life.
She was born Helen Rose Little Killer on Pine Ridge Reservation, South Dakota to the late Christopher M. Springer and late Delores Little Killer on November 3, 1954. She later left Pine Ridge Reservation with her "Mommie", Mrs. Alvesta Springer in 1956. From there she travelled the world as a "Military Brat" in the United States Air Force.
Nostalgia's thirst for knowledge and desire to "finish what she started" led her to enroll as an adult in Loch Raven High School to finish her High School Diploma. She earn an Associate of Science from Essex Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science from the University of DC. She had a varied and impactful career, as a business owner, political campaign manager, certified mediator helping reconcile differences and a tax specialist with the Federal Government followed by Jackson-Hewitt Tax Services, where she navigated the complexities of finance with ease and precision.
Her efforts extended beyond career achievements; Nostalgia was a beacon of light through her involvement in missionary trips, outreach to underserved communities, charity events and multiple Vacation Bible Schools per year to name a few. Her generous nature and thoughtful approach to life were evident in her many contributions.
A woman of varied interests, Nostalgia enjoyed travel where she embraced diverse cultures and experiences. Her love for singing was evident in her joyful voice that could uplift any spirit. She was also dedicated to volunteering, touching the lives of many with her altruism. Nostalgia's culinary skills were unmatched, bringing family and friends together over lovingly prepared meals. Not one to sit still, she found delight in numerous activities especially the First Mount Zion Baptist Church "Silver Steppers" performance team.
It was Nostalgia's loving nature, her ceaseless generosity, and the thoughtful way she moved through the world that will be most remembered by all who knew her. She was the type of person whose presence could transform a room, her genuine kindness serving as a model for others.
Nostalgia was also preceded in death by her brothers, Christopher M. Springer II, Michael D. Standing Soldier, Timothy L. Standing Soldier, Robert A. Standing Soldier; Step-Father Frank J. Standing Soldier; Nephew Christopher M. Bidgell.
Nostalgia lived a fulfilling life alongside her beloved husband of 35 years, Reginald Wright. Together, they built a family founded on love and mutual respect. Her nurturing spirit will be lovingly remembered by her son, Kenneth Henderson, Sr.; her daughters, Patrice "Tresie" Lambert (Donald) and Earlena Perry; her grandsons, Kenneth Henderson II, Joe Reginald Faucett IV (Natalie), and Michael Perry. Her granddaughters, Joelle V. Faucett and Evita Andrews, will miss the warmth of their grandmother's embrace and the sound of her encouraging words.
Her "Mommie", Mrs. Alvesta Springer, will cherish the memories of her bright-eyed daughter whose light never dimmed. Nostalgia's legacy will continue through her brothers, Emerson A. Springer (Yvette), John F. Springer (Michelle), Bryant D. Springer (Matice), Norman Standing Soldier, and Richard Standing Soldier; and through her sisters, Michelle Parham (Leslie), Juanita Rodriquez, Philomine Miners, Gloria Standing Soldier, Alice Standing Soldier, and Mary Standing Soldier. For her Godsons, Marcus J. Butler, Malcolm J. Butler (Montez), Marshall J. Butler, Kevin A. Williams II and Kyle A. Williams her spirit will continue to be a guiding light.

What a remarkable soul to have known on this side of heaven. The voice, the smiles, the laughs and tears we shared will forever be remembered. To the family, my prayers are with you. Life was what she taught me to enjoy and not focus on the sorrow and pain that often comes with it. Remember, God is always in control no matter what.

Love Always,
God Daughter and Friend in the Faith

Nostalgia starred in the Fall Production of "The Skin of Our Teeth" in the Fall of 1992 at Loch Raven. She was an extraordinary presence. I admired her decision to come back and finish high school as an adult. I am so sorry to know she is gone.
