Nova Adan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 11, 2024.
Nova Joan Adan of San Carlos passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 5. Nova was a warrior and a fighter, a special young lady who inspired all who met her.
Nova was born with many medical and physical challenges. Although doctors predicted she would not live more than a few years, it became evident that Nova's favorite past time was proving wrong those who underestimated her. Her ability to defy the odds is both a function of her internal will and strength of spirit, combined with the unwavering love and support of her family and of those who surrounded her. Nova lived life on her own terms, and chose her departure the same way: at home, without the burdens of the hospital, when the time was right for her, and in a way that we can all only hope for- peacefully and surrounded with abundant love.
Nova is survived by her mother Eliza B. Davies, stepfather Benjamin Y. Davies, and sister Ava J. Davies. Nova also leaves behind her grandfather James D. Bjorken, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends who loved her fiercely. She is preceded in death by her biological father Jeffrey V. Adan, her paternal grandparents Vincent and Sara Adan, and her maternal grandmother, Joan G. Bjorken.
A gathering to honor Nova's incredible life will be held Monday, July 15 at 1:00 at the San Mateo Garden Center, 605 Parkside Way San Mateo, CA 94403
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nova's name made to the Independent Living Skills Program at Woodside High School (contact contact Susan Garcia [email protected] ), or There with Care of the Bay Area https://therewithcare.org/ which provides support to families experiencing medical crisis.
