It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Octavian G. Austriacu of Jericho, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated physician. He was born on January 15, 1956, in Ploiesti, Romania, and departed this life on October 2, 2025.
Dr. Austriacu devoted over 25 years of his life to family medicine as the esteemed owner and operator of Octavian G. Austriacu DO PC in West Babylon. His commitment to the health and well-being of his patients was unwavering, underscoring his belief in the value of compassionate care.
Dr. Octavian is survived by his adoring wife, Denise Austriacu, with whom he shared 27 years of love and partnership. He is also survived by his daughters, Michelle and Louisa Austriacuand his sister, Carmen Austriacu; as well as a host of friends and extended family who will remember him fondly. He was predeceased by his parents Stefan Dan and Maria Austriacu.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Octavian had a passion for reading with a particular fondness for the Bible. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis, as well as watching soccer. An animal lover at heart, he found joy in caring for his beloved dogs, JoJo and Alfie, as well as feeding the neighborhood cats and birds. Whats more was his charitable nature. He will be remembered for all that he gave to not just his family but to everyone he encountered.
The family will gather to honor his memory during a Memorial Service at the Church of Our Lady of Kazan on October 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow on October 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the same location. Dr. Austriacu will be laid to rest on October 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
In this time of grief, we invite all who knew and loved Dr. Octavian to join us in celebrating his life and legacy. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
