Odis Ray Duncan Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee, on August 3, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1945, in Briceville, Tennessee, to Dewey Duncan and Ollie Braden.

Odis lived a life marked by dedication to his craft, love for his family, and deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him. A proud graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Odis went on to serve his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he found his calling as a master barber. As the owner of 5113 Salon and Odis's Place, he became a beloved fixture in the Knoxville community. Known for his skill, kindness, and welcoming spirit, Odis was honored multiple times with the Best of Knoxville Award for Best Barbershop, a testament to the care he showed each person who sat in his chair. Beyond his work, Odis had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He loved hiking the trails of East Tennessee, enjoying a good movie, and capturing the world through photography. His quiet strength and creative soul left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Odis was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Hopkins Duncan and Ollie Braden Duncan, and by his brothers Lee, Roy, and Kyle Duncan.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Price Duncan; his children, Ray Duncan and Tisha (Stacy) Malenovsky; stepson, Kevin Neely; and his beloved grandchildren, Skyler, Cody, and Xander. He is also survived by his sister, Ann (Kevin) Isbell, and nephew Justin (Annie) Isbell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Odis's memory to Friends of the Smokies, supporting the mountains he so deeply loved. Odis will be remembered for his steady presence, his artistic eye, and his ability to make everyone feel at home. He will be deeply missed.
