Our precious son, Lee, found heavenly peace on Sunday, August 31, 2025. "Leebird," as he was so affectionately nicknamed by his sister, got his wings and flew home. Living life with infectious joy and genuine kindness, Lee never met a stranger and made instant, lasting friendships.

From Wilkesboro, North Carolina where he was born, to Irmo, South Carolina where he graduated high school, to the College of Charleston for degrees in psychology and religious studies, to the Inner Banks of North Carolina where he met Emily, Lee spread his light, his love and his endearing personality. There are no words to express how much he will be missed, only gratitude that we shared the gift of Lee's life.

In every sunrise, every moonglow, and every walk, we will know his presence.

Lee leaves behind so many to cherish him: his parents, Lee and Laura Duncan; his adoring sister, Caroline (and Jeff); his love, Emily Olah, and an army of family and friends from Canada to Florida.

In lieu of flowers, share Lee's spirit by finding someone each day to share kindness with.

A memorial for family and friends is planned for spring of 2026, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a beloved place he and Emily shared.

Twiford Funeral Homes, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is assisting the Duncan Family. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.TwifordFH.com.
