Odis Gene Heird

Our beloved Odis Gene Heird, 90, of Pine Bluff, AR passed from this life on October 1, 2025, peacefully at home with family by his side. Born and raised in Pine Bluff, he was the son of the late Odis Aaron Heird and Sallie Marie Bush Heird of Pine Bluff. He attended and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He left College to join his family in the farming industry, which continued over 20 years. He owned and operated a retail business and ended his employment contracting mowing services for the Pine Bluff Paper Mill.

Odis married the love of his life, Doris Elizabeth Hyde on December 20, 1953, until her passing, March 19, 2001. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church. He attended and enjoyed United Pentecostal Church in White Hall on occasion with his daughters. According to his caregivers, Odis prayed consistently and had a close relationship with God, as his health was declining. His favorite passage was 23rd Psalm.

Odis loved his family unconditionally and enjoyed any and all visits. He never failed to ask about his grandchildren. He also had a passion for the outdoors, and hunting was a big part of his life. Odis loved the Razorbacks and eating home cooked meals.

His journey on this Earth is remembered with love, compassion and his faith in God. Heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice who assisted in his care, specifically Jeremy Walker, who came out promptly when we needed him.

Odis is survived by 1 son, Michael Aaron Heird, (Alice Randleas) of Pine Bluff; 3 daughters, Debbie Warner (Sept 18, 2014), Belinda Strate of Sheridan, and Lesa Darrough (Veo) of Pine Bluff who was his devoted caregiver for 8 years. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Jeremy Herring (Kalyn) from Sheridan, Timothy Herring from Sheridan, Jennie Harvey (Jimmy) from Sheridan, Rusty Warner (Jana) from Sheridan, Crystal Davis from White Hall, Danny Davis (Kari Beckman) from Pine Bluff, Vanessa Darrough of Grand Prairie, TX, Jacob Darrough from Pine Bluff, Michael and John Heird from Pine Bluff, Richard Seamons from Pine Bluff, Edward Randleas from Pine Bluff and Brian Gibson (Feb 12,1984). Odis had 23 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

In memory of Odis Gene Heird and his love for hunting, the graveside theme will be "Camouflage".

Visitation will be held at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home Monday October 6, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M.

Graveside services by Ralph Robinson & Son will be Tuesday October 7, 2025, at 10:00 A.M at Memorial Park Cemetery in White Hall with Reverend Jeremy Herring officiating.
