Scott M. Warner was born on March 4, 1961 in
Hanover, Pennsylvania and passed away on February 13, 2024, after a long and difficult yet courageous battle against head and neck cancer.
After starting his family with wife Kathy in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, the couple moved to
Rockaway, New Jersey to raise their girls and built their life for 20+ years, before finally relocating to their home in
Franklin, Tennessee. Scott and Kathy celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in November 2023.
Scott was a graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a BA degree in Math and Computer Science. His career included various Senior Leadership IT positions within the Pharmaceutical industry.
In Scott's younger years, he was an active athlete in basketball, baseball, and marching band which continued to drive his avidity as a sports fan later in life. So much so that the family dogs were named Calvin, after Cal Ripkin Jr., and Denver for the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed sharing his love of these activities with his daughters by coaching them in softball and encouraging them to join various musical groups such as marching band, concert, and jazz band. The family even traveled together over numerous years to enjoy Drum Corps International competitions (DCI - professional marching band) since Scott followed the bands since the 1970's. Scott aged like the fine wine he enjoyed drinking, cherished the time spent in the pool, and dancing with his grandkids, making pancakes for loved ones, and playing games with his wife and friends. He was a lifelong ice cream enthusiast believing that life should include at least one bowl a day, and was consistently trying to improve his golf game.
Scott is survived by his loving wife Kathleen (Rothe) Warner; daughter, Tara (Warner) Colalillo with husband Christopher and twins Adelaide Mae & Grant Warner Colalillo; daughter, Rachel (Warner) Vukusic with husband Niko and daughter, Eloise Marie Vukusic; brother, Todd Warner with wife Mary (Hammond) Warner and their sons; and parents, Maynard Warner and Dona (Hoke) Warner.
As a proud servant of the Lord, Scott was an active member of the Church including the New Covenant Sunday School class, the Brentwood UMC OnPoint Men, and Thursday morning Bible Study. He was most recently nominated for the Leadership BUMC class of 2024, with a focus on positively influencing the development and growth of the church. He was committed to educating the youth by his involvement in Mission Projects with the First Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, which included both giving back to the community and connecting with the young members of the congregation. He was also a consistent donor of blood and platelets with the American Red Cross before becoming sick.
Scott was a devoted Christian with unwavering beliefs through all of life's challenges, a loving and committed husband, and a dedicated and affectionate father. Although often reserved, he always acted with intention and showed his most vulnerable side, including his sense of humor and compassion for others, when the opportunity presented itself. May the fond memories of Scott live inside you until you meet him again one day.
The family will hold a memorial service at Brentwood United Methodist Church on February 23, 2024 with visitation at 10am followed by the service at 11am.
