Ola (93) passed away on Oct. 8th 2025
Born on May 9th 1932 to the late Hamp Tobin and Jessie Phillips -Tobin. She attended school in St John and Ringgold Louisiana. Ola accepted Christ at a early age at St John Baptist Church in Chestnut LA. Ola relocated to Kansas City, mo in 1979 and lived with her sister/cousin Mary Jane Bradley. She joined Community Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Mt Nebo Baptist Church, until her health began to fail. Ola lived a good life traveling and hanging out with her grand children. She worked as a CAN for years and also worked for the grandparents program through the city of Kansas City Mo.
Mama Tobin did not play about her grandchildren and they could not do wrong in her eyes Especially (Monty)
She was/is a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister,cousin, aunt, friend and much more.
Ola was preceded in death by her parents Hamp Tobin and Jessie Tobin her son Kenneth Tobin, brother Allen Tobin, sister Bobbie Tobin-Hewitt, sister Betty Jean Tobin-Loud. She is survived by her children Sharon Gayle Tobin, Luther Lane Tobin, Phyllis Tobin-Morrison, three grand children, Te'Ericka S. Gray, Kenneth Morrison Jr., Armondo L. Morrison, one great grand Amir Lamont Morrison, nephew Allen Tobin Jr., Niece Veronica Loud- Nelson (Andrew), great nephew Marcus Hewitt. Special brothers/cousins, L.B Bradley, Charles Bradley and Robert Bradley.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, 10:00 am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 9:00am-10:00am at the chapel.
