Olga Anne Hurtado, a beacon of unwavering love and courage, embarked on her eternal journey on May 9th, 2025. Born on September 3rd, 1965, in the vibrant town of San Marcos, she carried the spirit of her birthplace throughout her life, spreading warmth and joy wherever she went. Olga's final moments were spent in Texas, surrounded by the profound love of her family and the memories of a life extraordinarily lived.
Olga, known affectionately by her loved ones simply as "Olga," was the epitome of gentle strength and boundless affection. Her life was a testament to the power of caring and the beauty of family, a tapestry woven with the threads of love and dedication. She was preceded in passing by her adored father, Oscar Villareal Sr., her brother, Oscar Villareal Jr., her sister, Laura Lynn Villareal, her son, Robert Hurtado Jr., and her granddaughter, Everly Rose Hurtado. Yet her legacy lives on, cherished and celebrated by those she left behind.
Olga's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband, Robert Hurtado, who remains as a pillar of the family they built together. Their love story continued through their children: Brandy V. Trevino (Mark), Derek A. Hurtado (Erica), and Brittany L. Hurtado (Ashley), who embody the values Olga held dear. Her grandchildren, Kamryn, Brandon, Kaelynn, Matteo, Elijah, Rylee, Isaiah, Nicholas, Mark Jr, Jaidon, Averie, Audrina, Aubree, and Blue, as well as her great-granddaughter, Addilynn, will forever be guided by her spirit and teachings.
The matriarch of a large and loving family, Olga is also survived by her mother, Alma M. Villareal, who instilled in her the virtues of kindness and compassion. Her brothers, Rick (Belinda), Christopher (Veronica), and Billy, her sisters, Sherry (Nick), Mary, Georgina (Jared), Jennifer (Leonard), and a host of nieces and nephews, all carry a piece of Olga's heart with them.
Though Olga's professional life as a homemaker and caretaker may have seemed quiet to the outside world, within the walls of her home, she was nothing short of a hero. She created a haven where laughter was the melody and love the rhythm. Her interests were as diverse as the many lives she touched; from the twang of country music to the thrill of scary movies and the heartfelt narratives of Hallmark films. But above all, Olga cherished the time spent with her family and grandkids, understanding that these moments were the true jewels of life.
Olga's character can be summed up in three simple yet profound words: loving, courageous, gentle. Her life was a living embodiment of Helen Keller's inspiring words: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Olga felt deeply, loved fiercely, and her heart was a sanctuary for all who were blessed to know her.
As we remember Olga, let us not dwell on the sorrow of her departure but rather celebrate the immeasurable impact she has left on each of us. Her spirit, a guiding light of love and resilience, continues to shine in the lives of those she loved. Olga Anne Hurtado's story is not one of an end but a perpetual inspiration, urging us to embrace every moment with passion, to live with our hearts wide open, and to cherish the bonds of family that outlast even death itself.
Today, as we bid farewell to a woman of immense character and love, let us carry forward the torch of her legacy. Let us live as Olga lived, with courage in our steps and boundless love in our hearts, transforming every challenge into an opportunity for growth and every encounter into a chance to spread kindness. Olga's life was a melody of love and strength that will forever resonate within us, a symphony of the human spirit that will never fade.
