Olive Louise Cline Kirby, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home. She grew up and lived most of her life in Scottsboro, Alabama. Born on April 5, 1936, Louise was the daughter of the late James Edward Cline and Bernie Lee Gamble Cline. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 72 years Gene, her brother, James Edward Cline, Jr., and sisters, Bobbie Jean Brock and Margaret Jarrell. Louise is survived by her beloved son, Jerry (Mike Harris); as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved beyond measure. She is also survived by her very dear friend, Kathy Jackson. She loved the Lord her entire life and was, at a young age, a founding member of Scottsboro's Calvary Baptist Church. For most of her adult life she and her husband were members of Randall's Chapel United Methodist Church, which they both loved dearly. She was always a loving, kind and generous person. Louise worked most of her life in medically related positions from the Red Cross, Medical and Dental offices, to over 25 years of service in Administration with Highlands Medical Center (formerly Jackson County Hospital). Louise was an avid reader and had many hobbies from crocheting and coloring to playing on her ipad for hours and working thousands of crosswords. There will be a visitation at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service celebrating Louise's life will be held at Pine Haven Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m. to be officiated by Louise's cousin, the Rev. Jody Gamble, whom she adored. The family welcomes flowers, and memorial contributions that may be directed to a charity meaningful to you. Louise often contributed to charities that benefit children.
