Olive Ross

Born in 1938 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Olive Ross's life was a
testament to love and dedication. At the young age of 14, she met Ian George
Ross, who would become the love of her life. Their journey began at the post
office where they worked, and their bond grew stronger over the years. They
married in 1957 and shared 64 beautiful years together until Ian's passing in
2020.
Olive was a remarkable receptionist known for her exceptional skills and
warmth. Her dedication was such that she received a standing ovation at her
retirement dinner, a testament to the impact she had on those around her.
Family was at the heart of Olive's life. She was deeply devoted to her son,
Paul, her granddaughters, Christina and Grace, and her daughter-in-law, Tracy.
Olive's move to the US in 2006 was driven by her desire to be closer to family,
where she found a new home and community in Centre County. She quickly fell in
love with the warmth of the people in State College, Hershey, Bellefonte, and
beyond, while always cherishing her ties with lifelong friends in the UK.
Olive was a beacon of love and kindness to everyone she encountered, her light
shining brightly in the lives she touched. Her legacy of warmth, devotion, and
genuine care will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had
the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial
service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Haky/Georgiana
Centre County Funeral Home 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801, Pastor
Jeremy Field officiating.
