Oliver Henry Adams, 86, of Nathalie, VA, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025. Born on December 31, 1938, in Hartford, Connecticut Oliver lived a full and spirited life marked by his love for cars, animals, music, and making others laugh. As a gifted car salesman, he was proud to have been recognized as a Top Saab Salesman in the United States during his career. Oliver and his first wife, Loreen, raised their two sons, William (Bill) and Lloyd (Kicker), in the tight-knit village of Riverton, CT - a place where many special memories were made. Oliver also cherished his time in Massachusetts and Cape Cod where he and his second wife, Cathy, lived with their son, David.
Beyond the showroom, Oliver had a sharp eye for real estate. He spent many years flipping investment properties and managing rental homes. He and his son David moved to Nathalie, Virginia in 1996, where David attended high school. Soon after, Rosemary Leville Adams of Cape Cod joined them down south. Oliver and Rosemary married and spent the next 25 years embracing the quiet life on their rural property.
In his retirement, Oliver could be found tinkering under the hood, walking his dogs down to the creek, playing his guitar, and keeping friends and family laughing with his unique sense of humor and charm. He connected with his community by performing at VFWs, retirement homes, churches, and local festivals with his bluegrass band, Ollie Adams and the Slick Rock Pickers.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, David and Alice Adams, and his sister Shirley. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosemary Adams, his children William Adams (Kim), Lloyd Adams (Lisa), David Adams, and Christina Miller (Ken), four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his dogs.
Oliver had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He would want his loved ones to remember: don’t take yourself too seriously, always have a handkerchief in your pocket, and “keep on the sunny side of life.”
A memorial will be held at a later date. The family will share details when they are available. In Lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the local humane society, SPCA, or Halifax County Animal Control.
