Oliver Dale Holmes

MSG Oliver Dale Holmes of Camp Springs, Maryland went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2022.
Oliver, affectionately known as Dale or "Sarge," was born in Williamsburg, Virginia on August 18, 1954. He graduated from James Blair High School in 1972, and enlisted into the United States Army shortly after. A determined and naturally driven young man, Oliver set one goal for his military career early on: to obtain one of the highest ranks as an enlisted soldier – Master Sergeant. He accomplished that goal by the end of his exemplary 21-year career where he specialized in Logistics and Supply. In 1999, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Music from Bowie State University.
Oliver leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, character and leadership. Known to be a straight-shooter with a distinct voice, and serious look --- to know him was to truly love him. A devoted husband and father, loving family member, dependable friend and so much more.
Oliver is predeceased by his mother, Rosa Holmes and father, Turner Clemons, four aunts, one uncle, nephews and cousins. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, daughter, Cheryl, twin sister, Carolyn Jones, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, close cousins and friends.
