Oliver Edward Mason, beloved husband, devoted stepfather, cherished brother, and loving uncle, passed away on August 16, 2025, at his residence in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on January 14, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Earl and Wanda L. Mason, both of whom preceded him in death.
Oliver dedicated over 25 years of his life as a truck driver, a profession that allowed him to travel and experience various parts of the country while providing for his family. Though he only completed the 8th grade, his work ethic and commitment to his career exemplified the values he held dear.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Oliver served his country until he had to discontinue his service due to asthma. His military experience was an important chapter in his life, and he carried the spirit of camaraderie and discipline with him throughout his later endeavors.
In addition to his steadfast work ethic, Oliver had a vibrant personality that shone through his hobbies and interests. He was an passionate drummer, often sharing his love for music with those around him. Additionally, he was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling, always eager to engage in spirited discussions about his favorite matches and wrestlers.
Oliver is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie Lou Mason (nee Bjorn), who stood by his side through triumphs and challenges. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Amy Joy Stearns; his brother, Earl C. Mason of Newton, Iowa; and his niece, Heidi Youngers.
