Olivia “Annette” Wheeler, 78, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Born September 5, 1945, in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Bill Murff and Rosa Elizabeth King Murff.
Annette graduated from East High School as a member of the 1964 graduating class. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and was a longtime secretary for Shelby Avenue Baptist Church. She was also a Deputy Clerk with the Nashville Metro Traffic Bureau. Annette was a loving, caring woman who would help anyone. Her life centered around her family that she loved more than anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Holly Jan Sellars; sister Alice Prater; brothers-in-law Ken Prater and Wallace Boner; sister-in-law Connie Murff.
She is survived by her children Jonathan ‘Tad’ (Kara) Wheeler, and Sha (Eddie) Matheney; sister Anita Boner; brothers Steve Murff and Alvin Murff; grandchildren Justin (Ruth Ann) Wheeler, Bailey (Caity) Wheeler, Sloan Sellars, Shayla Sellars, Chance Matheney and Shelby Ortega; great grandson Jack Wheeler and another great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 3pm until 8pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 4005 Memorial Boulevard in Springfield. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Derek Wright will take place at 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home. The family will received friends and visitors from 10am until 1pm on Thursday prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens alongside her daughter, Holly. Pallbearers will be Tad Wheeler, Justin Wheeler, Bailey Wheeler, Steve Murff, Alvin Murff, and Steven Murff.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Annette’s name to United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee at 1200 9th Ave N, Suite 110, Nashville, Tennessee 37208.
Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home, and Cremation Center has been entrusted with Annette’s final arrangements.
