It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ollie B. Spaulding, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt friend, who left us on November 3, 2025, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by loved ones in her passing at her Daughter Audrey D. Tyson's home in Bridgeport Ct and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Early Life and Family
Born on March 21, 1937, in Farmville County, North Carolina, Ollie B. Spaulding was the cherished child of Sampson Tyson and Leatha Briggs both of whom is deceased. Growing up in The City of Stamford. She developed a love for many hobbies, interests, and values. She completed her education in Farmville North Carolina and moved here to Stamford Ct, where she forged lifelong friendships and built a foundation for her remarkable life.
Career and Achievements
Ollie B. Spaulding dedicated her professional life to Pitney Bowes for more than 30 years as a Machinists, and after her retirement she continued to work with Goodwill both in Stamford C. Known for her integrity, commitment, and kindness, she made a lasting impact on colleagues and the community. Some of her proudest accomplishments included notable achievements, and milestones.
Personal Life and Passions
Outside of work, she loved attending her daughter Apostle Audrey Tyson's church in Bridgeport, Ct. She was filled with so much admiration for her dear companion and daughter Nicole Escoffrey where they delivered food to the community on their Door Dash runs. Ollie's warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone she met.
Survived By
Ollie is survived by Daughters, Saundra Johnson, Audrey D. Tyson, Yvette Tyson, Allison Crosby, Dee Dee Crosby, Vida Ingram, and her beloved Nicole Escoffrey, grandchildren, Emanuel Tyson, Ezra Burnes, Tyshawn Johnson, Tiffany and Steffany Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Her Son in laws James Burnes Sr. and Jesse Johnson as well as a host of Great-Grandchildren and many cherished friends and extended family members. She was predeceased by Felicia Tyson, Wanda Tyson (Daughters) and Torrick Johnson (Grandson).
Service and Remembrance
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2025 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a celebration of life at 11:00AM at Wilson Memorial COGIC, 164 Richmond Hill Ave., Stamford, CT. Family and friends are invited to share memories and honor her legacy.
Interment will follow at Norwalk Union Cemetery, Norwalk, CT.
