Dennis M. Spaulding

Dennis "Den" Michael Spaulding, 73, of Temperance, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday October 25, 2025, with his family by his side while at ProMedica Toledo Hospital after a 5-year courageous battle with cancer.
Dennis was born June 4, 1952, in Monroe, Michigan to Donald and Adella (Horn) Spaulding and was 1 of 12 children. Dennis graduated from Airport Community School in 1970 and soon after he began his automotive career with Ford Motor Company as a production operator, in turn, leading him into management in 1975. For a few years while at Ford, he also took a position as an auxiliary officer with the City of Monroe Police Department. In 1991, Dennis was transferred to Laredo,Texas to help nationalize LaMosa Ford Motor Plant which was located in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. He and his family resided in Texas until 1995 then returned back to Michigan where he continued working with Ford until he retired in 2005 after 35 years of service. Shortly after retirement, Dennis found himself owning/operating a car wash for a short period of time since he was offered a managerial position with KTPO (Kuka Toledo Production Operations), staying with them for 10 years until retiring for the 2nd time.
Some of his favorite pastimes included golfing, dancing, sneaking snacks to his favorite fur babies, cutting the grass on his rider, baking, family gatherings, riding through the neighborhood on his golf cart, car washes, playing his numbers, and watching sports (avid fan of Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines), The Price is Right, Blue Bloods, Chicago PD, Hawaii 50 (always working a case and having everyone's "Six"). Dennis was known for his Brut cologne (Lol), dance moves, his sense of humor/quick wit, the word "No" not being part of his vocabulary to his loved ones, and his beyond generous nature of taking care of people anyway he could. Dennis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, mentor, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years Rosalinda (Lopez) Spaulding; his children, Daniel (Kelly) Spaulding, Teresa Lopez, and Alex Spaulding; his grandchildren, Michael (Dena) Martinez, and Allen (Harper) Spaulding; great grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Amir; 3 fur babies, Luna, Eva, and Maya; sisters, Yvonne (Ken) Phifer, Sharon (Bill) Stanifer, and Cheryl (Doug) Wysocki; brothers, David (Darlene) Spaulding, Donald (Nanette) Spaulding, Gordon (Grace) Spaulding, and Gregory Spaulding; countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Adella Spaulding; brothers, Larry, Gerald, and Robert; and sister, Carol; and sister-in-law, Nina.
The family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at ProMedica Toledo Hospital for all their efforts and kindness.
The family will receive guests on Friday November 7, 2025, from 2-8pm at Ansberg West Funeral Home-3000 W Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH 43613. A Funeral Service honoring his life will take place the following day, November 8, 2025, starting at 10:30a.m. at Ansberg West Funeral Home, from there laid to rest at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, fellowship to follow.
