Ollie Verret Obituary
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall from 10:30 am until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Shanna Dore' and Skylar Theriot.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Ollie was born July 28, 1935, in Breaux Bridge. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and devoted parishioner at St. Rita Catholic Church. Ollie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She never met a stranger and enjoyed a visit with anyone, especially her family. She took pride in her yard and nurtured all of her flowers and plants. Ollie cherished her Cajun culture and loved to dance to French music and her absolute favorite song was, "Hey Mom." She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Rilius "Tookie" Verret (Stephanie); daughters, Brenda Verret, Melinda V. Lavergne, and Linda V. Faucheaux; grandchildren, Shanna D. Dore' (Bret), Dillon Dupont, Skylar Theriot (Tyler), Hunter Verret (Katie), Racquel Airhart (Zack), Jordan Portier; great-grandchildren, Sophie Dore', Aubrey Dore', Cole Theriot, Evelyn Theriot, Declan Theriot and Remi Verret; brothers, Wilson Theriot (Phyllis) and Cliford Theriot (Gayle); sisters, Lillian Blanchard, Geraldine Dore' (Nolan), and Emily Bergeron (Paul); and her beloved dog, "Peanut".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rives "Bozo" Verret, Jr.; parents, Noe and Divine Bijeaux Theriot; brother, Dalton Theriot; and her brother-in-law, Camille Blanchard.
Pallbearers will be Rilius "Tookie" Verret, Hunter Verret, Tyler Theriot, Bret Dore', Clayton Theriot, and Joey Theriot.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wilson Theriot, Cliford Theriot, Paul Bergeron, Nolan Dore', Norman Blanchard, Dillon Dupont, and Kyle Theriot.
Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
