Omar Bustillos, 48, passed away on July 8, 2025, in
Midland, Texas. Born on January 3, 1977, in Porfirio Parra, Chihuahua, Mexico, Omar's life was a vivid tapestry woven with creativity, faith, and deep familial love.
A devoted Christian whose heart beat in rhythm with his unwavering belief in Jesus, Omar found strength and serenity through prayer. His spirituality was not merely a private refuge but a radiant light that touched everyone around him. He lived his faith through acts of kindness and compassion-his generosity was quiet but profound, his presence gentle yet deeply felt.
Omar's soul spoke most clearly through art. A gifted musician, painter and original artist, he brought to life scenes rich with color and emotion. His fingers caressed the keys of his keyboard to create music that flowed from his heart and into our lives. His brush strokes carried stories only he could tell-stories born from imagination and shaped by experience and manifested in his art that echoed Picasso. Music was another language he spoke fluently; whether playing the keyboard, synthesizer or immersing himself in soundscapes from his vast collection of music and movies, he found joy in the rhythms that moved him and shared that joy freely.
His collections were more than hobbies-they were expressions of wonder. Figurines lined his shelves like cherished companions from beloved tales; such as his Darth Vader. Video games and films offered worlds where storytelling reigned supreme and he loved sharing his world with his brothers and sisters via text messages or when we visited him. These passions reflected a man who saw beauty everywhere and delighted in sharing it.
Omar's laughter echoed warmly among those who knew him best. He had an infectious sense of humor and treasured long conversations with family over the phone-moments filled with affection and connection across distances. Every call was a thread strengthening the fabric of their bond. His passion was beautiful.
He was a beloved brother to Rafael, Hugo, Pablo, Alba, Elva, Olga, Elizabeth, Ruth, Aracely, and Alfa. Each sibling held a special place in his heart; to them he was more than family-he was a source of unwavering support and enduring warmth.
Omar now joins his parents, Rafael Bustillos Pe a and Maria Pabla Bustillos, who preceded him in death. Though gone from this world too soon, the essence of Omar remains-in every painting that stirs emotion, every melody that lifts the spirit in videos that will forever hold his talents, and every act of kindness inspired by his memory.
May those who knew him find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind: one of creativity without bounds and love without condition. He will always be carried in our minds, spirit, and will flow as life blood through our hearts. Omar was a very kind and gentle sweet soul. Now God Almighty holds him now in His glory.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 4100 N FM 1788,
Midland, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and celebrate his life.
Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
