Oneita F. Feeney

Longtime Benician, Oneita Feeney, entered into rest on Sept. 9, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born in Independence, MO, Oneita moved with her family first to Oakland, then settling in Benicia, CA, where she would live for over 50 years. A musical ingenue from an early age, Oneita played 9 instruments starting with accordion and ultimately becoming most proficient in piano. She was awarded a full scholarship to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she perfected her craft and eventually taught students of her own while maintaining an honors status at Benicia High School. With her dedication to her studies, Oneita achieved salutatorian of her graduating class. Music allowed Ms. Feeney to be multi faceted as she was active in many musical clubs in school such as marching band, choir and even played for the Benicia Old Town Theater Group. Mary Ann and Bob Winters took her in at their law firm where Oneita worked for over 25 years as a paralegal, making her a staple in the law community. Eventually, the firm became Winters, Winters, Schroth, and King, the latter of whom she spent the most time working with. Mr. King and Ms. Feeney shared many years together working as well as building a life together, traveling the world until Mr. King's untimely death in 2001. Oneita continued working in the law community until she retired in 2012. Oneita loved on her grandchildren fiercely and did what she could to make them smile. Her quick wit and humorous personality made her a likable person to be around. Oneita leaves behind her son and his wife, Chris & Shannon Abreu, her daughter and husband, Marissa & Brad Thomas, and five grandchildren, Trevor, Charlotte, Madison, Robert and Lindsay, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21st at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private.
