Onelia Parent Gutierrez

Onelia Marie Parent Roussel Gutierrez, age 95, went peacefully to his heavenly Father on March 5, 2026, at her residence in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Marie was born on October 7, 1930, in Madisonville, Louisiana to the union of Norman Parent, Sr and Onelia Marie Cousin Parent. Marie was previously married to Joseph Roussel, the father of her children. Later, she married Leo Gutierrez, with whom she shared many years of love and devotion. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Gutierrez Sr; her parents Norman and Onelia Cousin Parent, sons Louis, Michael. David, and Keith Roussel; sister, Shirley Parent Lee. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters Marie Meyers and Marguerite (Leonard) Parker. Sons, Tony (Becky) Roussel, and Norman Roussel. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, March 12, 2026; at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.; the Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. Mass at 11:00 a.m. Reverend R. Tony Ricard, Celebrant. Interment will be at St. Roch Cemetery #2.
