Opal E. Decker, age 76, of Williamsburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Bell County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jones and Edna Webb Jones. Opal, whose generous heart and supportive nature touched everyone she met, was a beacon of love and compassion that radiated in every interaction. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit uncontainable, and her love for people was unparalleled. This love was most evident in the way she cherished and prioritized her family, creating a warm and loving environment that will be remembered and missed. Opal was a God-fearing woman whose life was a testament to her kind spirit, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
In addition to her parents, Andrew and Edna; she was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Decker; daughter, Michelle Decker; grandchildren, Amber Decker, Tana Hayes, Jacob Dixon, and Rachel Dixon; great grandchildren, Kimber Leah Collins, and Tyler Huddleston; and siblings, Thelma Decker, Bill Jones, Lewis Jones, Bob Jones, and Sidney Jones.
She is survived by her children, Nita Decker, LaVon Stockard (Kelly), and Jennings "Moose" Decker (Dinah); twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Jones Douglas, and Johnny Ray Jones; and by a host of friends and family.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to assist with expenses. Those wishing to donate can do so online by selecting "Donate Now" on Opal's obituary page, in person at the funeral home, or by calling the funeral home. All donations go towards assisting the family as we honor and celebrate Opal's life.
