Opal was not just a mother but a nurturing figure whose unwavering strength and kindness shaped the lives of countless individuals. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Bobbie Gloria and his wife Lamar, Paula Martinez, James Gloria and his wife Lisa, Pamela Gloria, David Gloria and his wife Maria, and Patricia Gloria. Each of them carries forward her spirit, embodying the values she instilled. She is also survived by her brother Sam Votaw.

Jacob, Bobby, Bryan, Amanda, Stephanie, Michael, Monica, Rachel, Eric, Paco, Noe, Javier, Mary, Ana, Baby Dave, Michael, Amber, Nicky, Meagan, Samantha, Kevin, Kelby, Jimmy and Ashley were blessed to experience her boundless love. Opal embraced her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother with pride, reveling in the joy her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren brought into her life.
Her devotion to faith was unwavering; Opal was a member of The Lord's Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, where she served with sincerity and grace.
Opal now rests alongside her beloved husband, Cornelio Friday Gloria, and her dearly departed parents, Ernest Simons and Pauline Votaw. She is also reunited with her son, Simon Gloria, her daughter, Linda Hooper, her brothers Harvey Smitherman, Ernest Simons Jr., Willie Simons, and Wayne Simons, and her sister Martha Gustin. Their collective memories now contribute to an eternal bond that she cherished throughout her life.
In these moments of grief, her family and friends remember the laughter, love, and grace that defined Opal's journey.
