Opil Faye Oliver, age 81 of Shelbyville, passed from this life on November 10, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Faye Oliver, born on February 24, 1944, in Pisgah, AL, was the beloved daughter of George Rape and Maybell Burton Rape. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Connie Oliver, and her sister Marie Swafford.
A graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School, Class of 1962, Mrs. Faye spent many years managing convenience stores throughout Bedford County. Outside of work, Faye loved to crochet, tend to her flower garden, planting flowers, canning fruit and vegetables, fishing, and spending time with her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Earl) Marlin of GA, Donna Smith of AZ, and Max (Regina) Oliver of Bell Buckle; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Benson Jessica Welch, Amber (Jesse) White, Jay (Kacey) Oliver, Shonta McBride and Jamie Oliver; 11 great grandchildren and four adopted great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Linda (JH) Morrison of GA, and Wanda (Mike) Bailey of GA along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2025, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held prior to funeral services, starting at 12:00p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @ www.stjude.org or by mail 501 St Jude PL. Memphis, TN 38105.
