Ora Albertson Obituary

Ora Idonna Landon Albertson, born in Kimball, Idaho, on August 8, 1927, was the last surviving child of Arthur and Elva Landon. She passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, just five days before her 98th birthday.

A true farm girl at heart, Ora grew up in Osgood, Idaho, milking cows and working any piece of farm equipment she could manage. These formative years would later prepare her for when a fellow Osgood farmer, Daniel Isaac Albertson, danced into her life, swept her away, and married her on July 7, 1945. Together, they built a life filled with deep love, devotion, and the joys (and challenges) of raising six farm children--five sons and one daughter.

Her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising her family and creating a warm, loving, and laughter-filled home. Ora had the heart of a true homesteader--she was an expert cook, maintained well-stocked food storage, and sewed with remarkable skill, but she was also a fierce competitor--she could out-fish any man and never hesitated to show the boys up on a snowmobile. Her talents on the farm, in the kitchen, and during recreation, were rivaled only by her gentle and loving spirit.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ora's faith was unwavering. The Osgood Ward held a special place in her heart, and she truly cherished each role she took on, especially her time as a visiting teacher. Her kindness, compassion, and steady presence touched everyone who knew her. She had a quiet warmth that made all who met her feel at home. Her legacy is one of selfless love, quiet strength, and enduring faith.

Ora was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Daniel Albertson; her children, Ronald Albertson and wife, Norma, Daniel Albertson Jr., and Mick Albertson; as well as three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Bev (Rockwell) Smith, Blane (Sandy), and Bart; daughters-in-law, Diane Albertson and Kathy Allred; sisters-in-law, Jeanine Landon and Janiel Albertson; 26 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 38 great-great grandchildren.

Ora was cherished in life and will always be remembered not just by her children and grandchildren, but by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Osgood Ward, 7940 North 35th West. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at the Grant-Central Cemetery.
